Karen Escalona

Karen Escalona, age 66 of Huber Heights, passed away on May 25, 2025 at The UI Methodist Hospital after a long battle of ILD. Karen was preceded in death by her parents, Ray and Fran VanBoven. She is survived by her loving husband, Hector Escalona; her daughter and son-in-law, Heather and Bob Scott; her grandson, Logan Scott; her great-granddaughter, Dixie Scott; her 2 brothers, Ray and Ron VanBoven; her lifelong friends, Debbie and Jay Lykins and many other relatives and special friends. 

Karen was a huge baseball fan and love the Yankees. She could sit and drink coffee and listen to Elvis all day. Her favorite place to visit was Graceland. She was very happy spending days with her husband and doggies. She loved her grandson who names her Memaw more than anything. They had a special relationship and she always called him her boy.

Karen fought hard, but ultimately her lungs got to weak and her body grew tired. She is at peace now and will be deeply missed.
