June Kay McLean, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and accomplished accountant, peacefully departed this life on April 9, 2025, in her beloved hometown of Dayton, Ohio. Born on August 10, 1950, June's life was a testament to love, faith, and dedication.
After graduating from Stebbins High School in 1968, June pursued her education further, earning a degree in Business from Wayland Baptist University in 1989. For an impressive 34 years, she lent her expertise as an accountant for the United States Government, where her diligence and commitment shone brightly.
June's heart was forever linked with that of her high school sweetheart, Daniel McLean. Their love story, which began in March 1967, was marked by unwavering support and a profound connection. As Dan served his country in Vietnam, June faithfully awaited his return, embodying the qualities of a loving and devoted partner. They shared 54 beautiful years of marriage, weathering life’s storms together and celebrating countless joys.
She found immense happiness in simple moments, whether it was watching game shows at night with her family, sewing, or scrapbooking. June cherished the laughter and love brought forth by her grandchildren: Madeline, Emma, Sophia, and Joseph, whose presence filled her heart with joy. She was dedicated to her church community, cooking and providing accounting services, while engaging deeply in Bible studies.
June’s adventurous spirit was evident in the trips she took with Dan, with their favorite destination being the beautiful landscapes of Hawaii. She approached life with a kind and helpful demeanor, always putting others first. The legacy she leaves behind is one of warmth and devotion, a true reflection of her character as a faithful believer in Christ.
In her passing, she is mourned not only by her loving husband, Dan, but also by her children, Donna (James) Arrigo and Brian McLean, who carry forward her spirit of kindness and love. June's parents, Bill and Beatrice Sexton, have welcomed her with open arms into the loving embrace of eternity.
As we remember June Kay McLean, we celebrate a remarkable woman whose life was a beautiful tapestry woven with love, family, faith, and sweet memories that will linger in the hearts of all who knew her. Her legacy of devotion and kindness will continue to inspire and comfort those she left behind.
