June C. Glander

June Colleen Glander, née Brumley, passed away peacefully on March 24, 2026, surrounded by her family and friends. Born on June 20, 1926, in Dayton, Ohio, June lived a vibrant and spirited life marked by dedication, wit, and a joyous embrace of both work and leisure.

June’s professional journey was distinguished by more than 22 years of dedicated service at Kettering Health, where she specialized in performing EKGs. Her commitment to healthcare and compassion for her patients left a lasting impact on her colleagues and community. After retiring from Kettering Health, June continued her engagement with the community through employment at Stein Market, where she remained active and involved.

A woman of vivacious character, June was known for her sharp wit, lively humor, and an infectious enthusiasm that earned her the affectionate title of a party girl among her loved ones. She cherished spending time with family and friends and delighted in shopping, activities that brought her great joy and connection.

Among her proudest achievements was the recognition she received on her 95th birthday, when the State of Ohio honored her with a commemorative plaque—a testament to her enduring presence and contribution within her state and community.

June is survived by her son, Greg Glander, and his wife Dee; her special daughter, Younoka Johnson; and her grandchildren, Elizabeth Glander and Alison Glander. She was also loved by many dear friends, including, David, Kathy, Paula, Sandy, Anna and Donna who remained close to her throughout her life.

She was preceded in death by her father, Fred Brumley; mother, Ethel Gould; stepfather, Butch Gould; and her great aunt, Estelle Peddicord.

June’s legacy is one of warmth, spirited engagement, and a profound love of life. Her memory will be cherished by all who knew her.

Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 28, 2026 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3940 Kettering Blvd. Service will begin at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial to follow at Woodland Cemetery in Dayton.
