With hearts full of love and remembrance, we share the passing of Julia Ann Cody, who departed this world on June 29, 2026, just two months shy of her 61st birthday. Born on August 29, 1965, Julia’s journey left an indelible mark on those whose lives she touched, from family members to the many souls her kindness and devotion embraced throughout the years.
Julia’s life was defined by compassion, strength, and an unwavering dedication to the well-being of others. She grew up in a close-knit family and graduated from Xenia High School in 1984, a milestone she carried forward with pride. Ever committed to learning and growth, she continued to expand her horizons by attending classes at Sinclair Community College.
For twelve remarkable years, Julia devoted herself to working at Toward Independence, where she supported adults with disabilities. There, her empathy, patience, and gentle encouragement made a world of difference. Julia approached every day with a genuine desire to bring comfort and dignity to others, and her work stands as a testament to her caring heart.
Central to Julia’s world was her beloved family. She is deeply mourned and forever cherished by her sons, William Cody and Gregory (Sharayah) Brickey, who will always carry her memory in their hearts. As a grandmother to John, Anika, and Emma, Julia provided boundless love and inspiration, nurturing each grandchild with warmth and gentle wisdom. The light of Julia’s affection also shines on her mother, Sue Brittingham, whose bond with Julia was profound and enduring; her brothers William (Melissa) Brittingham and Steven Brittingham; her sister Jonna (James) Armentrout; and a life partner, Timothy B Oliver. Julia’s love for her family was steadfast and unconditional.
She is welcomed into eternity by her father, William Brittingham Sr., whose memory she always held dearly.
Those who knew Julia remember her quiet courage, the sincerity in her smile, and the way she listened—truly listened—to every story and every hope entrusted to her. Her legacy is not only in the big moments, but in countless small gestures: the reassuring words, the gentle touch, the unwavering presence when it mattered most.
A Memorial Gathering to honor Julia Ann Cody’s life will be held on July 18, 2026, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home in Beavercreek, located at 3380 Dayton Xenia Rd, Beavercreek, OH 45432. Though our hearts ache with loss, we find comfort in the enduring legacy of kindness, selflessness, and unconditional love Julia leaves behind. Those who were fortunate enough to know her will carry her spirit forward, striving to reflect even a fraction of the goodness she brought into this world.
