Judy Whalen, who was born on August 25, 1935, in Chillicothe, Ohio, passed away on October 7, 2026 in Dayton, Ohio.

Judy will be remembered as a happy, caring, and deeply family-oriented woman who took great care of those she loved. She was known for being dependable, someone others could count on through life’s ordinary days and its most important moments. She was also very social and enjoyed spending time with her friends, bringing warmth and companionship wherever she went. A devoted church member, Judy lived her faith with steadiness and commitment.

She also found joy in the work of her hands. Judy loved to sew, knit, and crochet, and those gifts reflected the patience, care, and thoughtfulness that marked her life. Whether in her home, with her family, among friends, or in her church community, she gave of herself generously.

Above all, Judy’s life was centered on family. She is survived by her sons, Daniel (Della) Aydelott and Steven Whalen; her sister, Molly Schieve; and numerous grandchildren, including; Tiffany (Tyrone) Howard, Rebecca (Joshua) Gutshall, Matt (Lisa) Lynch, Sara (Andre) Cole, Stephanie (Javier) Tosky, Angela (Erin) Adauto, and Quentin (Kiarra) Gayden, along with numerous great and great-great grandchildren. Each of them carries forward the love, care, and strength she shared so freely, and her memory will remain a lasting blessing in their lives.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, William Aydelott and James Whalen; her daughters, Terry Williams and Kimberly Wells; her father, Arthur Schieve; her mother, Madeline Schieve; and her sisters, Virginia Murdock and Donna Houck.

Judy Whalen leaves behind a legacy of devotion, kindness, faith, and love for family. She will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her.
