Judy Smith, a beloved member of her family and community, passed peacefully on December 27, 2024, in her hometown of Dayton, Ohio, at the age of 82. Born on December 5, 1942, Judy brought joy and warmth to everyone who knew her. She was a true testament to a life well-lived, filled with laughter, love, and memories that will forever be cherished.
Judy dedicated over 20 years of her career to Composites One, where her hard work and determination led her to rise to the position of Branch Manager before transitioning to the Corporate Office. Her professional contributions were marked by her dedication and the immense respect she garnered from colleagues, highlighting her capacity to lead with both strength and kindness.
An alumna of Eaton High School, Class of 1960, Judy's pursuit of knowledge continued at Bowling Green University. Yet, beyond her professional and academic achievements, it was her big heart and love for her family that will resonate the most with those she leaves behind. Judy's fun-loving spirit and generous nature made her a beacon of light to her loved ones.
Judy is survived by her devoted husband of 52 years, Ron Smith, with whom she shared a rich life full of adventures and affection. Her legacy lives on through her four cherished children: Michelle Williams (Tim), Brandon Smith (Tabitha), Rhonda Covert (Rich), and Rob Smith. Judy was not only a loving mother but also an adoring grandmother to 10 grandchildren and a great-grandmother to 14 great-grandchildren, who will forever hold her memory close to their hearts.
She was also the beloved sister of Beth Renner and leaves behind many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends who were touched by her kindness and warmth. Judy is reunited in spirit with her parents, Carl and Eva Mendenhall; her brothers, Woody Mendenhall and Billy Renner; and her sister, Barbara Jean Mendenhall, who have all gone before her.
