Judith Ruth Pettit, a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on December 7, 2024 in Dayton, Ohio. Born on April 3, 1941, in Dayton, Judie lived a life filled with kindness warmth, and a genuine love for those around her.
Judie graduated from Fairview High School in 1959, marking the beginning of a lifetime dedicated to nurturing the bonds she formed with family and friends. Known for her affectionate nature, she was a true "hugger," always ready to share a warm embrace with those she cherished.
She is survived by her sons, Gregg (Stacey) Pettit and Chris Pettit; her grandchildren: Mandy Pettit, Tara Pettit, Shelby (Bobby) Nemeth, Steven Pettit, Cody Pettit, and Kaley Pettit; 4 great-grandchildren; her siblings, Ron Creager, Vickie McCarroll, and Scott Creager, along with numerous family and friends who will miss her greatly.
She joins her parents, Wilbur and Margaret Creager; her son, Todd Pettit; and her brother, Jerry Creager, in eternal rest.
Judie had a passion for nature, often enjoying peaceful walks with her grandchildren. A member of the Brookville Gardening Club, she loved to stay connected with the beauty of the natural world. Her two dogs, Oliver and Meggie, were constant companions, reflecting her love for animals and the simple pleasures of life.
A Memorial Gathering to honor Judie's life will be held on January 11, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, followed by a 12:00 PM Celebration of Life at The Ridge Church, located at 7555 Brookville Phillipsburg Rd, Brookville, OH 45309.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Dayton in Judie's memory.
Judie's warmth and kindness will be deeply missed, but her spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
