Juanita Jett Sexton, 91, ascended to the Abha Kingdom on October 19, 2020 at Friends Care Community in Yellow Springs after a lengthy illness.
She was born on November 16, 1928 in South Lebanon, to Letha Johnson and Wickliffe Jett.
After graduating from Kings Mills HS in 1946, she began a career at McCalls in Dayton. She worked for 20 years into a supervisory position before McCalls closed.
She continued her education in Real Estate at Wright State and UD before receiving her license. Juanita volunteered at Children's Hospital where she would cuddle and rock newborns that were born to chemical dependency. She also worked for several years for the AIDS Foundation delivering groceries and helping with transportation.
She and her daughter, Cindy later moved to Alpha, Ohio where she met Bill and Lois Walker. This was her introduction into the Baha'i Faith. She had been on a lifelong search but this Faith made sense and could be traced through the Bible. Juanita's declaration date in National Baha'i Database is June 1, 1996.
Juanita is survived by three children, Larry (Christine) Homan, Cindy Homan, Sandy (Brian) Winters all of Xenia; two grandchildren, Josh Homan of Xenia and Joe (Rita Ebert) Winters of Dayton; three great-grandchildren, Gracie Homan, and twins, Lee and Aaron Homan.
She is preceded in death by her husband's. Herbert Homan and Clarence "Pop" Sexton; and step-daughter, Lois Jean Doane.
Graveside service will be held on Wednesday, October 21, 2020 at 2:00 pm at Miami Cemetery, 6379 Corwin Ave., Waynesville, Ohio 45068.
