Listen to Obituary

Joyce A. Burkett (nee Trevis), passed away surrounded by her loving family on October 10, 2026. She was born in England on May 10th, 1942 to the late Joseph and Matilda Trevis. She came to America in May of 1964 and worked as a nanny. She met the love of her life, Charles, in 1966, and they married later that year in August 1966. She was full of life and loved to dance or go on picnics. In her free time, Joyce loved to tend to her garden or knit scarfs, sweaters, or anything her fingers could make. She enjoyed traveling as far as Israel or Europe with her husband and family. She loved the beach and made time to walk along the sandy beaches whenever she could.

Joyce was a loving wife and a wonderful mother and grandmother. She was always trying to help others and enjoyed babysitting her grandchildren whenever she could. Though she was often full of fun and laughter, she was also very organized and prepared, always taking care of all of the details. She loved her family with all of her heart.

Joyce will be remembered by her loving husband of 60 years, Charles Burkett; her sons, Trevis (Kristi) Burkett and Joseph (Laura) Burkett; grandchildren: Tai, Luc, and Nik; her many cousins and family still in England; and many more family and friends both here and abroad.

Joyce loved deeply and was very loved. She will be greatly missed. In lieu of flowers, donations in Joyce's memory may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
