It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the untimely passing of Joshua James Hogan, who left this world too soon on January 18, 2026. Josh was born on March 10, 1996 in Kettering, Ohio to Tracey and Kevin Hogan.
Josh graduated from Centerville High School and attended Wright State University. During this time, he made many meaningful friendships which he maintained throughout his life.
In his younger years, Josh worked as an assistant wrestling coach at Centerville Middle School with his father and as a salesperson as Top Tier Soccer. Also, Josh was a beloved bartender and server at Moeller Brew Barn.
His love for his family and friends shone brightly, as did his generous spirit. Josh was known for being the life of the party, always ready to mix music and share laughter with those around him. Josh had an unwavering love for music and all that came with it. He found joy in creating unforgettable memories with friends and familiar faces in the community and took great pride in supporting artists and friends as a stagehand. His presence was one that lit up a room - a familiar face you were always happy to see and a laugh that could brighten any night. Josh showed great talent in EDM production and carried with him a wide-ranging appreciation for all kinds of music throughout his life. He also loved to watch the Cincinnati Bengals, Cincinnati Reds and Dayton Dragons and attend their sporting events.
He never met a stranger and those who met Josh never forgot him. Passionate and loyal, he always put others before himself. Josh never expected anything in return - he simply wanted to help. That was just who he was. He stood up for the underdog and had a rare gift for seeing into a person’s soul. Josh chose his people carefully, guided by sincerity and heart. He lived by the simple but powerful belief of treating others the way he wanted to be treated. Raised with strong morals and unwavering values, Josh carried those principles with him, touching countless lives with his kindness, integrity and compassion.
Josh was preceded in death by his grandparents, JB "Jim" Kilgore and Shirley Kilgore.
He will be missed by mother, Tracey Dawn Kilgore-Hogan; father, Kevin Hogan; sister, Hannah Elizabeth "Hex" Hogan; grandparents, Mike Hogan and Miriam Beyers; grandmother, Susan Hogan; along with many extended family members, countless friends and rave fam.
Josh's journey may have been brief, but it was filled with remarkable moments and a vibrant spirit. He was a radiant force in the lives of his family, friends, and community and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
We continue to hope that one day justice will be served for the cruel and senseless loss of Josh's life. He was taken from us far too soon and did not deserve this.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the family.
