Joshua McKee Dovayak passed away on July 19, 2026, in East Carbon, Utah. Born on August 25, 1977, in Kettering, Ohio, Joshua led a life marked by dedication to his family, commitment to service, and a deep appreciation for the outdoors.

Joshua’s formative years began in West Carrollton, where he attended West Carrollton High School. His pursuit of knowledge led him to Wright State University, where he earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance—an achievement that would set the foundation for his professional career. Throughout his working life, Joshua distinguished himself in various roles, notably as a project manager in finance and as a market analyst. His expertise benefited several well-known companies, including Luxottica, Chiquita, and WorkJam. His colleagues remember him for his analytical mind, professionalism, and unwavering integrity.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, Joshua was known for his wide range of interests and his genuine passion for the natural world. A sports enthusiast, he especially loved football, and his zest for life extended to hunting, fishing, and gardening, pursuits that grounded him and provided him with much joy. Joshua was also particularly fond of his Jeep adventures and was devoted to his dogs, Gio and Mo, companions that meant a great deal to him.

Joshua’s compassion was evident in his community involvement. He generously gave his time to search and rescue groups, volunteering his efforts and expertise whenever needed. This selflessness spoke volumes about his character and the quiet strength with which he served others.

Joshua is survived by his parents, John and Vicki Dovayak; son, Tyler (Katelynn) Dovayak; brother, Joe Dovayak; sister, Tara Dovayak; uncle, Tracy Dovayak; special friends, Jamie and Andy; and numerous extended family members and many friends. He is also remembered by those whose lives he touched through his acts of kindness and generosity.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents, John and Janet Dovayak and Houston and Maureen Rodgers; aunt, Valerie Dovayak; and uncle, Richard Rodgers.

A funeral service will be held at 12:00PM on Monday August 3, 2026 at Newcomer Funeral Home, Kettering Chapel. Family and friends may visit from 10:00AM until the time of service. Joshua will be laid to rest at Evergreen Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made out to O-SAR, an Organized Search & Rescue, at https://o-sar.org/involved in memory of Joshua, please add '4JD' before your name when contributing. 

Joshua McKee Dovayak’s legacy will be cherished by all who knew him. His memory will live on through his loving family, enduring friendships, and the kindness he shared with the world.
