Joseph Scott Matheney

Joseph "Scott" Matheney, age 59 of Dayton, passed away unexpectedly on May 3, 2017. Scott was born in Dayton to the late Floyd and Martha Matheney. He attended Belmont High School. Scott enjoyed fishing in his free time. He was a caring husband, father, grandfather, and friend and will be greatly missed by all who loved him.

In addition to his parents, Scott was preceded in death by his brother Mike Matheney.

Scott leaves to cherish his memory, wife of 17 years, Pam A. Matheney; children, Matt (Andi) Matheney and Patrick Matheney; step-daughter, Jessi Wood (Ken); grandchildren, Hunter and Beck Matheney; brothers, John (Linda) Matheney, and Toby (Debbie) Matheney; sister-in-law, Liz Matheney; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, May 9, 2017 at Evangelical United Methodist Church (195 W. 3rd Street, Xenia) at 12pm. Visitation to be held from 11am - 12pm, prior to the service. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.newcomerdayton.com

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Scott's memory to the American Diabetes Association.
