Joseph Thomas Mariscalco, fondly known to his loved ones as Joe, passed away on August 5, 2026. He was born on October 22, 1965, in Dayton, Ohio, and throughout his life, Joe was cherished for the warmth and steadfastness he brought to every relationship and endeavor.
Joe’s personality was marked by a remarkable combination of humor, reliability, kindness, and deep affection for his family. His sense of fun and quick wit brought smiles to gatherings both large and small, while his reputation as a dependable worker earned him the respect of those who knew him professionally.
An avid newspaper reader, Joe loved keeping up with current events, always ready to discuss the latest headlines or share a thoughtful opinion. His passion for baseball was well-known—a sport he dearly loved and followed throughout his life. Whether watching them on television, or reminiscing about legendary teams, Joe found immense joy in everything the game had to offer.
Joe was blessed with a loving family, who survives him and will carry his memory forward. He is survived by his sister, Margie Portner, and her husband, Frank Portner; his niece, Elizabeth Portner; his nephew, Matthew Portner; his much-loved great-nieces, Ellie, Polina, Veronica, Anastasia, and great-nephew, Ryan Portner.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Tommy and Shirley Mariscalco; his sister, Teresa Mariscalco; his brother, Mark Mariscalco, and his nephew, Joshua Portner.
Joe’s legacy of kindness, laughter, dedication, and love for his family leaves an indelible mark that will endure for years to come. He will be deeply missed, but always remembered with profound affection. You are now free Joe, may you rest in peace.
