Joseph N. Lutz, 88, formerly of Cincinnati, OH and Leland, MI, passed peacefully in his sleep on January 5, 2017. Joseph was born in Cincinnati, OH on November 19, 1928 to the late Nixon and Emily (Lewis) Lutz of Wyoming, OH.
Joseph is survived by his loving daughters, Donna (Thomas) Diehl and Beth Knight; son, Dan McNeese; son-in-law, Glen Petersen; 8 grandchildren, and 2 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Sara C. Lutz; sister, Barbara (Lutz) Thoman, and daughter, Melanie Petersen.
Joseph graduated from The Hill School Preparatory Academy in Pottstown, PA and the University of Cincinnati. Following his service in the United States Coast Guard, Joseph enjoyed a long rewarding career in real estate and banking.
Joseph was an avid reader and an excellent bridge player. He obtained designation as a Ruby Life Master in the American Contract Bridge League, co-authored the treatise American Forcing Minor Bridge System, and is a past president of the Cincinnati Bridge Association. He also enjoyed his many years of membership and involvement in the Wyoming Presbyterian Church and his time in Leland, MI and serving as president of the Leland School Board.
A memorial service celebrating his life will be held on January 10, 2017 at 10:00 am at the Presbyterian Church of Wyoming (225 Wyoming Ave., Wyoming, OH 45215).
