BRASSARD, Joseph, N.L. Jr, age 86 of Huber Heights, affectionately known in his youth as Lionel, passed away 13 June, 2026.
He graduated from Saint Anthony of Padua's parochial school in New Bedford, MA in 1958. He retired from a career in aircraft maintenance after a combined 37 years of service in the United States Air Force and in Civil Service. Joseph earned the United States Air Force Air Medal for meritorious achievement while participating in aerial flight during the Vietnam War. He was a longtime member of the Dayton Amateur Radio Association exercising his passion for CB and Ham radio where he met his special friends Jim and Cindy Ebner. He was a devoted husband, father, and patriot.
Joseph was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Carole, his parents, Joseph Sr. and Adele, and siblings Lucille, Raymond, and Paul. He is survived by his sister Annette Brassard, his four children, Joseph and his wife Eileen, Danielle and her husband Robbie Eldridge, Adam and his wife Crystal, and Amie and her husband Jeffrey Martin, as well as grandchildren, Carolyn, Cheri, Sarah, Jennifer, Andrew, Hunter, Leanna, Erica, and Brooke. He is also survived by 14 great-grandchildren.
Family will greet friends from 5-7pm on Tuesday, June 23, 2026 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4104 Needmore Rd., Dayton, OH 45424.
Internment is at Dayton National Cemetery on Wednesday, June 24, 2026. Meeting time for procession to the cemetery is promptly at 9am on June 24, at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4104 Needmore Rd., Dayton, OH 45424, with the graveside military honors starting at 10am.
