Jonathan-Paul Gabriel Edwards

Jonathan-Paul Gabriel Edwards, born on July 14, 1978, passed away on June 12, 2025. He leaves behind a legacy of compassion and dedication that touched the lives of many.

A proud alumnus of Fairmont High School, Class of 1996, he furthered his education with an interest in nursing at Sinclair Community College and Wright State University. Jonathan had a heart that truly shone in his work as an STNA and home health aide. His career was marked by an unwavering commitment to showing kindness and empathy toward his patients, making a significant impact on their lives during times of need. 

His journey did not stop there; he graduated from Miami Valley Career Tech Center and completed his apprenticeship through the UA Local 162 Plumbers & Pipe Fitters. He was most recently a courier for Buckeye Funeral Trade Services, where he transported life-saving organs to surrounding cities and states. In addition to his academic and professional pursuits, Jonathan served his country honorably in the United States Army from 1996 to 1998, demonstrating a spirit of service and dedication.

Known for his loving and humorous personality, Jonathan was always surrounded by laughter. He had strong opinions and an infectious passion for life, particularly evident when he was in the kitchen, cooking for family gatherings. A true ginger with captivating blue eyes, he was a beautiful soul who cherished his relatives and friends deeply. His protective nature and fierce loyalty made him a steadfast presence in the lives of those he loved.

Jonathan is survived by his loving parents, Kathy and Roger Edwards; his sister, Angel (Carl) Hedberg; as well as his niece, Eleanor Hedberg, and his nephew, Owen Hedberg. He is also remembered by many aunts, uncles, and cousins who held him dear to their hearts. His family will forever cherish the joyful memories and the love he so generously shared.

A visitation will take place from 4:00pm to 6:00pm on Friday, June 20, 2025 at Newcomer North Chapel, 4104 Needmore Road, in Dayton, with his service starting at 6:00pm.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Jonathan's memory may be made to Solvita.

As we remember Jonathan let us celebrate his spirit—a devoted son, loving brother, and a caring uncle. His legacy of kindness, humor, and dedication will continue to inspire those who were fortunate to know him.
