Johnny M. Cook Sr., a beloved figure known for his big heart and infectious laughter, passed away on April 21, 2025, at the age of 76. Born on January 2, 1949, Johnny lived a life filled with love, service, and commitment to those around him.
Johnny dedicated himself to his country by serving in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War, a testament to his character and sense of duty. His military service was a proud chapter in his life, reflecting his unwavering dedication to protecting and supporting his community.
Family was paramount to Johnny, who is survived by his son, Johnny Cook Jr., affectionately known as “Cookie,” and his bonus son, John Boy. He also leaves behind his brothers, James Cook and Jeff Cook, as well as his step-sister, Melanie Stanley. He held dear numerous nieces, nephews, family, and friends, all of whom were touched by his kindness and warmth.
Johnny’s legacy is particularly enriched by the love he shared with his beloved wife of 57 years, Christine Cook, who predeceased him. Together, they built a life filled with joy and laughter, creating memories that will forever hold a special place in the hearts of their family. Additionally, Johnny was preceded in death by his parents, Odell Reed and Zelma Reed, and his sister, Judy Eshelma.
