Johnnie Edward Blaylock

Johnnie Edward Blaylock, 89, of Moraine, Ohio, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, February 11, 2024. He was born on April 2, 1934, to the late Emery and Lola Blaylock in Brotherton, TN; proceeded in death by his wife, Shirley Blaylock, of nearly 67 years; sisters: Ollie Swafford, Ethelene Lee, Golda Hargis, and Delma Turner, and infant brother Harold.
Johnnie was born in a small log cabin in the mountains of Tennessee. As an adult, he resided in Moraine, Ohio, working for General Motors for 47 years. He was a 32nd Degree Mason out of the Millennium No.779 Lodge for over 60 years. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of West Carrollton, Ohio. Johnnie was a generous, caring man, and a true outdoorsman who loved to fish.
He is survived by his sons Richard (Deborah) Blaylock and David (Vanessa) Blaylock; grandchildren: Justin Blaylock, Alexis (Dylan) Hanscel, Allison Blaylock, and Jared Blaylock; great-grandson: Elijah Hanscel; siblings: Jim (Janice) Blaylock, Ralph Blaylock, and Ruth Richardson; special family bond with Robert Houk, along with numerous other family members and friends.
Visitation will be held 10:00am to 11:00am on Saturday, February 17, 2024, at Newcomer (Centerville Chapel), 820 Miamisburg-Centerville Rd, Centerville, OH 45459, followed by a funeral service at 11:00am with Pastor Scott Wells officiating. Burial will take place at Calvary Cemetery, Dayton, OH.
Pallbearers: Justin Blaylock, Jared Blaylock, Dylan Hanscel, Roger Rockwell, Sonny Turner, Wayne Blaylock, Luke Blaylock and Robert Houk. We want to thank all Johnnie's caregivers as they have been a blessing to him and his family.
