John William Stethem

John William Stethem, age 77 of Beavercreek, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 19, 2026, surrounded by his family. He was born June 21, 1949 in Dayton, Ohio the son of the late Howard and Margie Stethem.

John was employed with Beavercreek Schools for 30 plus years. In his younger years, you could find John bowling or roller skating. In his free time, he enjoyed going to the gym, spending time with family and watching football, especially his favorite team the Cleveland Browns. John will be remembered for being a gentle giant and giving the most caring hugs. He was a sweet soul that will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Donna J Stethem, infant son, John Michael Stethem, son, Joshua William Stethem; sister, Patricia Meyers.

John is survived by his daughters, Melissa (Jerry) Pendall and Ashley Stethem; grandchildren, Lillian Stethem, Chloe Pendall and Gracie Bowling; brothers, Michael (Hilde) Stethem and Jimmy Stethem and many other loving family members and friends.

Visitation will be Tuesday, July 28, 2026 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home (3380 Dayton-Xenia Road, Beavercreek, Ohio 45432). Funeral Service will be Wednesday, July 29, 2026 at 11:00 am at the funeral home. John will be laid to rest at Miami Valley Memorial Gardens following the service.
