John Spencer, 75, of Springfield, OH passed away on August 15th. A man known equally for his fierce stubbornness and his profound dedication to his grandchildren, John leaves behind a legacy of “being crazier than a crack house rat”, tons of laughter, spirited debates, and a fiercely patriotic demeanor.
John is proceeded by his sons David and Daniel Isaac. He is survived by his wife, Vicenta, his daughters, Janet and Dianne, his sons, John, Matthew, Joshua, and Andrew. And 21 beloved grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Those who knew John understood that underneath his famously ornery exterior, John cherished his role as a grandfather. He was a man who liked things done his way, yet he would completely melt in the presence of his grandchildren, proving to everyone that even the most stubborn of men have a profound soft spot.
During his retirement, John's schedule was, in his own words, "busier than a one-legged cat in a litter box." If he wasn't enthusiastically watching a football game and likely giving the players a piece of his mind through the television screen, he was dedicating his time and energy to playing with his grandchildren. He was the kind of man who would give you a hard time just to show he cared, and his vibrant, unfiltered presence will be deeply missed by everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.
