John Lindburgh Setty Jr, 63, of Moraine, Ohio, passed away peacefully, on Sunday, January 7, 2018.
Friends and family are invited to celebrate John's life during visitation at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3940 Kettering Blvd, Kettering, Ohio 45439 on Monday, January 15, 2018 from 4:00pm-8:00pm.
Funeral services will be held at Newcomer Funeral Home on Tuesday, January 16, 2018 at 11:00am. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery, 1625 Calvary Avenue, Dayton, Ohio 45409.
John Lindburgh Setty Jr. was born in Lebanon, Ohio to John L. Setty Sr. and Betty Setty on October 2, 1954. John is a veteran of the United States Air Force, where he served as an E4 Buck Sergeant, from 1973 to 1979. Lieutenant John Lindburgh Setty Jr. worked for the Moraine Police Department, and retired in January 2012 after 32 years of service. In addition to his police work, he spent time as a Special U.S. Marshal, serving with pride.
He enjoyed playing sports, and most importantly, spending time with his grandsons and family.
John Lindburgh Setty Jr. is preceded in death by his father, John Setty Sr.
John Lindburgh Setty Jr. is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Pamela Setty, and two sons, Joseph L. Setty and Phillip J. Setty. Two daughters in law, Bethany S. Setty and Haley E. Setty, as well as two grandsons Broderick (Brody) L. Setty and Hudson D. Setty. He is also survived by his mother Betty Setty, brother Stephen Setty, and his wife Vikki, and three sisters. Rita Lake (husband Hugh), Linda Davis, and Karen Stacy (husband Chuck).
The family of John Lindburgh Setty Jr, wishes to extend our sincere thanks to the nurses from Dayton Physicians and Hospice of Dayton.
