John Parker

John "Dixon" Parker, age 80 of Beavercreek, passed away Thursday, July 14, 2016. He was born August 15, 1935 in Memphis, Tennessee the son of the late J.B. and Fern Parker. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife of 47 years, Donna Parker. Dixon is survived by his daughters, Darlene Wiseman (Mark) and Dione McConnaughey (Ed); grandchildren, Valerie and Colin Wiseman and Troy and Trent McConnaughey; brother, Bill Parker (Joann); sister-in-law, Elizabeth Falligant; niece, Ann Wallace; nephew, Travis Falligant, as well as numerous other family and friends. He was a graduate of Hanover College and retired from WPAFB after 36 years of service as an avionics engineer. Dixon was a longtime member of Kirkmont Presbyterian Church, loved genealogy, playing bridge, and was an avid reader. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. A gathering will be held from 4:30pm - 6:00pm on Monday, July 18, 2016 at Kirkmont Presbyterian Church, 3377 Shakertown Rd., Beavercreek, OH 45434 with a memorial service following at 6:00pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or the National Parkinsons Foundation.
