John Timothy Nye known to all as Maximin Noise aka Max…. Born Oct 14, 1957 , Max left this world on March 30th , 2017 at the age of 59 after a very hard fought battle against liver cancer.
He is survived by his love and lifelong friend, Ms. Robyn Smiley, his father John R. Nye and sister Ms. Sandra Kolb and family . His Brothers in music Mr. Eric Purtle, Mr. Jeff Brelsford, Mr. Jim Ingram and Mr. Fred Vahl and preceeded in death by his mother Betty Nye.
Max was a graduate of Beavercreek High School Class of 1976 and is a former laser ,explosives and stage tech for Disneyworld, Orlando , Fla.
His music was his gift to the world ….. Max was a creative powerhouse, a grand innovator of uncharted sounds and sonic images. He was the original lead guitarist of Dementia Precox through the 1980's, and more recent was the bass player for Darkbackward. Trent Reznor once credited Max and Dementia Precox as a significant influence on Nine Inch Nails and as a creator in the formation of a new genre now known as Alternative.
The Dayton music scene has lost a long time collaborator, musician, and friend. Max inspired many over the years through his work in Dementia Precox and The Darkbackward.
A private service and cremation will be held
At His request , there will be a memorial gathering to celebrate his life , to be announced at a later time.
In lieu of flowers please make donations to The Sugarcreek Bird Farm or Hospice of Dayton …..
