John Bruce McMillan

Dayton, Ohio

John Bruce McMillan "Johnny Bruce" passed away May 10th 2025 at Miami valley hospital. John was born July 30th 1957 in Dayton, Ohio.

He is a US Marine corps veteran serving as a mortar man in the first battalion second Marines second Marine division and served his country with pride. In earlier years he worked the well field for city of Dayton as a heavy equipment operator. He attended Belmont schools, played baseball, hunted fished and loved the outdoors.

John's smile would light up a room. Always a cracker jack, he loved to dance and dress sharp. Always ready for a fun time.

John is preceded in death by his father Edgar Lee McMillan Jr. His mother Maudie Conley Bauer, his brother Edgar Lee McMillan III.

John is survived by his sister, Marla Lynn McMillan seven nieces and nephews Kenneth ,Carolyn, Danny 2nd, Evelyn jay Eleanor, Roselyn, Robert (Jenny), Johnalyn (Mark). John is also survived by his Uncle Joe and special cousins Lennie, Melanie, Joel, Edwin and Robbie of North Carolina, Pam and Sandy of Ohio. Dear friends, Dan Smith, Mark Sopczak, and Earl Markland. John is dearly loved and will be greatly missed.

Public visitation will be held at Newcomer Funeral Home (3380 Dayton Xenia Rd) on Wednesday June 4, 2025 at 11:30 am with funeral service to follow at 12:30 pm. He will be laid to rest with military honors at Dayton National Cemetery. Pastor David Tacket officiating. Pallbearers are Brandon Clint, Uriah Moland, Brock Edward Markland, U.S.TSgt Kyle Bruce Pearson, Mark Allen Shetenhelm, Maxwell Alan Senter, Kyle Edgar Lee McMillan Shaffer; all great nephews.

John was a organ donor and was able to help many. John, loved Jesus, his country, his friends and family and a cold beer.
