John Harold Mackey, age 81 of Dayton, passed away Friday, June 12, 2020 at his home. He was the son of Julius and Cecilia Mackey, born on July 9, 1938 in Dayton, Ohio.
John retired from the United States Postal Service with over 36 years of service. He proudly served his country in the United States Army for 2 years. He graduated from Chaminade High School in 1956. He loved fishing, mushroom hunting, gardening, bowling, softball, walking and spending time with his family. John never had an enemy in his life. He was loving, caring, compassionate and helpful to everyone. The world would be a better place if there were more people like John Mackey. He would brighten other people's day with his beautiful smile. John was a very loving husband and father who will be dearly missed.
John is survived by his loving son, Brad and his wife, Booter of 53 years.
