John Edward "PeeWee" Goins, 68, of Miamisburg, passed away on Thursday, June 8, 2017.
He was born in Dayton October 25, 1948 to the late Ernest C. & Rita E. Goins. John was a Vietnam Veteran and the Battalion Chief for the Montgomery County Kentucky Fire Department for 35 years before he retired. John was one of the original Black Sheep in the dept. He was a supporter & member of the DARF racing club, a Kentucky Colonel, and a Mason in Mt. Sterling, KY.
John is survived by his wife, Mary Buchanan-Goins, his sons Jason (Jessica) Brooks, John (Chelsea) Goins; step-daughters, Lisa (Doug) Weaver, Kristi Helton, Teresa (Ryan) Rose, Jill (Chris) Champlin; granddaughter, Briar "Sweet Pea" Goins, step-grandchildren; Matt (Ashley) Taulbee, Josh (Bianca) Weaver, Kyle Helton, Lauren Rose, Hannah Champlin, Abigail Champlin; siblings, Bob Boyer, Marvin (Linda) Goins, Beverly Bond, Mary (Mike) Bangert, and Kandy (Kevin) McGrew; numerous special nieces and nephews-including Little Charlie and Braydon; and many other relatives and friends.
The service will be held on Thursday, June 15, 2017 at 1pm at Newcomer Funeral Home South Chapel (3940 Kettering Blvd, Kettering, OH 45439. John will be laid to rest at the Dayton National Cemetery.
