John F. Johnson

John F. Johnson, age 79, of Dayton, passed away on Monday, September 2, 2024. 

John was born in Dayton on January 29, 1945. 

He was preceded in death by his mother, Birdie A. Johnson; and siblings, Samuel Johnson, Isaac Johnson, Alberta Moore, and Duanna Naff. 

John is survived by his sons, Iran Johnson, Sr. and Javon (Schmeka) Johnson; mothers of his children, Phyllis Johnson and Cherry Morrison; grandchildren, Diran Johnson, Iran F. Johnson, Jr., Isaiah Johnson, Daniel Johnson, Victoria Johnson, Antonio Johnson, and McKenna Johnson; great-granddaughter, Legacii; nursing aide, Louevinar Mcquay; and many other extended relatives and friends. 

John attended Dunbar & Roosevelt H.S. and ran track and played football for Shawn Acres. He was known for his great sense of humor. John was a part of the Fabulous 5 singing group, with his siblings. He overcame many adversities in his lifetime. John was an avid sports fan-his favorites being the Cleveland Browns and the Cincinnati Reds. He was a deliciated father, grandfather, brother, and friend. 

The family will receive friends on Saturday, September 14, 2024 from 12:30-1:30pm at the Newcomer North Chapel, 4104 Needmore Rd, Dayton, OH 45424. The service will follow at 1:30pm.
