John H. Eblin, age 74 of Bethel Township, passed away suddenly on December 15, 2018. John was born on April 3, 1944 in Lucasville, Ohio to the late Erma and Sidney Eblin. He graduated from Wilkesville High School in 1962. John married the love of his life, Patricia on May 29, 1965. John retired as a research engineer from University of Dayton Research Institute after many years of dedicated service. He was a hard-working man and even after his retirement continued on working. John and Patricia had a passion for bargains and even had their own booth at Treasure Aisles Flea Market.
John was a passionate UD Flyer Basketball fan and enjoyed cheering on the Cincinnati Bengals. He loved to spend time with his loyal canine companions, Buffy and Jessie.
John was a loving, caring, and compassionate husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He will be greatly missed and fondly remembered by all who knew him.
In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, Patricia Eblin.
John leaves to cherish his memory, children, John "Jay" (Trisha) Eblin, Jerry (Kathryn) Eblin, and Jennifer (Brian Ahrendt) Eblin; grandchildren, Haley, Brendan, Cassidy, Connor, and Destiny; brothers, Thomas "Tom" (Rose) Eblin and Ed Eblin; and many other loving in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
A service honoring John's life will be held on Thursday, December 20, 2018 at Newcomer - North Chapel at 7pm. Family will greet friends and loved ones for two hours prior (5pm - 7pm). In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in John's memory to the American Diabetes Association.
