John "Jack" Corrigan Martin, born on May 13, 1952, departed this life on April 8, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of laughter and warmth that will forever be cherished by those who knew him. A proud graduate of Meadowdale High School, class of 1970, Jack embarked on a career with Erwin Chrysler, where he found joy in selling cars for several years.
Jack was known for his fun and outgoing personality, often lighting up the room with his infectious humor. He had a remarkable ability to connect with people and loved being surrounded by friends and family. His enthusiasm for life extended to a passion for sporting events, where his spirited presence was hard to miss.
In addition to his vibrant social life, Jack also dedicated many years to playing softball, earning a well-deserved place in the Dayton Amateur Softball Hall of Fame. His love for the outdoors was evident in his enjoyment of fishing, and he was an avid supporter of the Ohio State Buckeyes and the University of Dayton teams.
Jack is survived by his beloved children, Lisa VanDyne (Jeremy), Lori Foster (Rodney), Michael Martin, and Madison Martin. He took immense pride in his grandchildren, Kaley, Whitney, Ryan, Taylor, Keirstin, Nicholas, Chandler, Ellis, Olivia, and Cameron, as well as his great-grandchildren, Hunter, Liam, Noah, Alexis, Aurora, and Ozzy. In addition to his immediate family, Jack is also remembered by his siblings, Linda Hufford, Rob Martin (Terri), and Greg Martin (Angie), along with numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
Preceded in death by his parents, John and Betty Martin, Jack leaves behind not only a family that loved him dearly but a wide circle of friends who were touched by his kindness and humor. His spirit and joyful presence will be missed but fondly remembered by all whose lives he enriched.
