John C. Davis

John C. Davis, age 83 of New Carlisle, Ohio passed away peacefully on August 10, 2025. He was born January 7, 1942 in Dayton, Ohio, son of the late Harry Davis and Elizabeth "Betty" Mitchell.

John was a loving, selfless, and devoted husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He worked at both IML Freight and ABF Trucking for several years until his retirement at 57 years. He had a passion for building model airplanes and cars. John enjoyed watching and racing cars, fishing, camping, and playing Yahtzee with his family. He will be greatly missed by all who had the honor of knowing him.

In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Joann Davis; siblings, Arlene (Edsel) Piersall, Robert Davis, Margaret "Peggy" (Denny) Stamper, and Rickie Mitchell; step-father, George Mitchell; and brother-in-law, Ronnie Robinson.

He is survived by his daughters, Sonia (Tim) Lovering and Tonia Davis (Kevin C.); grandson, Charles "Chuck" Hunter and Jessyka (Leroy) Evans; great granddaughters, Ava Hunter, Jenna Evans, Kendra Evans, and Emma Evans; sister, Paula Robinson; brother, Mark Mitchell; several nieces and nephews; as well as numerous other family members and friends.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 19, 2025 from 12pm-1pm at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4104 Needmore Road, Dayton, Ohio 45424. A funeral service will begin at 1pm with burial to follow at Forest Hills Memorial Gardens.
