John C. Alfano, born on October 16, 1945, departed from this world on March 30, 2025. He is remembered not only for his fervent passion for sports but also for the love he extended to his family and friends throughout his life. A devoted fan, John particularly cherished watching the Dayton Dragons and Cincinnati Reds.
Traveling was one of John's great joys; he embraced the adventures that came with exploring new destinations and creating lasting memories with his wife. His zest for life was complemented by his affection for dogs.
John's legacy lives on through his beloved children, John D. Alfano and Jennifer Hill, who carry forward his values and love. He was also a proud grandfather, and he found immense joy in the company of his grandchildren: Victoria, John, Natalie, Jillian, Emma, Nolan, and Noah. These relationships brought him tremendous happiness and fulfillment.
He is survived by his brother, Sammy Alfano, as well as many nieces, nephews, and dear friends who were fortunate enough to know him. John was preceded in death by his cherished wife, Susan Alfano, whose memory continues to be a guiding light for his family. He was also preceded by his parents, Sam and Margaret Alfano, and his sister, Phyllis Ruffin, all of whom played significant roles in shaping the wonderful person he became.
As we reflect on John's life, we celebrate his passion for sports, travel, and his beloved dogs, alongside the unwavering love he had for his family. His spirit will be dearly missed by all who were touched by his kindness and exuberance for life.
