Joseph Thomas Horn "Bud", age 98 of Dayton, Ohio, passed away Thursday, December 3, 2020 at Dayton V.A. Medical Center Hospice Unit. He was born March 22, 1922 in Dayton, Ohio the son of Joseph Andrew and Margaret Horn.
Joe served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during WWII and retired from Elder Beerman after 30 years. He attended the Crestview Baptist Church. Joe loved the beach, vacationing to Florida, cars, and spending time with a very special group of friends.
He is preceded in death by his father, Joseph Horn; mother and step-father, Margaret and Edwin Menker; sister, Doris Fisher and brother, Dale Menker.
Joe will be missed by his loving wife of 41 years, Judith; son, Joe Horn, Jr.; grandchildren, Laura, Aimee and Stephanie; many great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Kimberly Menker and long-time friend, Gary Kite; and nieces and nephews.
Family will receive friends Friday, December 11, 2020 from 3 p.m. until the time of the funeral service at 4 p.m. at Newcomer North Chapel, 4104 Needmore Rd., Dayton. The state of Ohio is under a mandatory mask order and has required that face masks be worn in all public places.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Joe's memory to the Hospice of Dayton.
