JoAnn Dutrow, (maiden name, Stape), passed away on September 2, 2026, in Fairborn, Ohio, at the age of 89. She was born on December 29, 1936, in Jeanette, Pennsylvania.
JoAnn will be remembered as a kind, caring, and loving woman whose presence meant a great deal to those around her. She retired from Civil Service at Wright Patterson Air Force Base, and in retirement and throughout her life, she enjoyed going on walks, square dancing, reading, and working puzzles. These simple pleasures brought her happiness and reflected the warmth and steady spirit that defined her life.
She is survived by her daughters, Kimberly Gilstrap and Michelle; her son-in-law, Paul Gilstrap; her sisters, Margaret “Peggy” and Dorothy; and her 10 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren. She remained an important and cherished part of her family, and her love will continue to be felt by those who knew her best.
JoAnn was preceded in death by her husband, John Dutrow; her sons, Jeffrey Dutrow and James Dutrow; her grandson, Paul Leslie Gilstrap; and eight siblings.
JoAnn’s life was marked by devotion to her family, quiet strength, and a loving heart. She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who had the blessing of knowing her.
