Joan G. Mclaughlin

MCLAUGHLIN, Joan G., age 86, passed away on March 31, 2017. She was born in Charleston, SC on November 15, 1930. She graduated from Bishop England High School in Charleston, SC in 1948. She was also in the Sisters of Charity of Our Lady of Mercy from 1948-1952.

After leaving the convent, she worked for the Citizens & Southern National Bank in SC and married her sweetheart, Herbert McLaughlin in 1954. Joan also volunteered as a Girl Scout Leader and helped with Creative Corners at St. Leonard's.

Joan is preceded in death by her mother and step-father, Naomi and George M. Conner. She is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, Herbert McLaughlin; children, Mary Pfahler (Thomas), Ellen Scullin (Paul), Susan Johnston (Ken), Eileen Toda (Mitch), Michael McLaughlin (Teresa), and Patrick McLaughlin (Julie); brother, Retired Air Force SMSGT Robert Graham Jr. (Anne); 16 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren, as well as numerous other family and friends.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of St. Leonard's and Hospice of Dayton.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday, April 7, 2017 at the St. Leonard's Chapel, 8100 Clyo Rd., Centerville, OH 45458, with family receiving friends from 12:00 pm until the time of service. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery, 1625 Calvary Ave., Dayton, OH 45409.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the St. Leonard's Benevolent Fund or Hospice of Dayton.
