Jo Ann Jacobs
June 22, 1932 — August 16, 2018
Jo Ann Jacobs, a resident of Centerville Health and Rehab, passed away August 16, 2018. Jo Ann was born in Dayton, Ohio, on June 22, 1932 to the late Fred C. Sr. and Flora F. (Root) Wood.
She was a life-long member of the South Park United Methodist Church. Jo Ann was a huge Cincinnati Reds and Cincinnati Bengals fan. Her favorite baseball player was the former Cincinnati Reds' All-Star right fielder, Jay Bruce. She loved watching movies and was very involved in all the activities available to the residents at Centerville Health and Rehab. Most of all, she loved working word search books.
In addition to her parents, Jo Ann was preceded in death by her husband, Robert E. Jacobs; son, Mark Allen Jacobs; brother, Fred Ciecel Wood, Jr., and sister, Betty Drake.
Jo Ann is survived by two daughters, Lisa (Robert) Rike, and Teresa (Greg) Widener.
The family will receive friends from 10:00-11:00 am Wednesday, August 22, 2018 at Newcomer Funeral Home & Crematory - South Chapel (3940 Kettering Blvd., Kettering OH 45439). The service will follow at 11:00 am concluding with burial at Calvary Cemetery, Dayton. Memorial contributions may be made to South Park United Methodist Church at P.O. Box 434 Dayton, OH 45409.
