Jo Ann Barnes, 85 years old, of Kettering, Ohio passed away peacefully at Hospice of Dayton, Ohio, on Friday, July 19, 2019.

Jo Ann was born December 28, 1933 to Paul Henry and Marguerite (Gaeke) Jacobson in Dayton, Ohio.

She is preceded in death by her eldest son, Michael Patrick Gunn, and sister, Rose Ann Williams, and brother-in-law Kenneth Hodapp.

She is survived by four siblings – her twin Carol Ann Hodapp, sisters Darlene Imbus and Pam Tatone, and brother, Paul Anthony Jacobson. She is also survived by brothers-in-law Don Imbus, John Tatone, Jeff Williams, and sister-in-law, Marlies Jacobson.

She is survived by four children: Twins, Steven Frank and Christopher Paul Gunn, and Jo Lynn Kirkland, and Kevin Paul Barnes. She is also survived by daughter-in-law Mary Barnes and son-in-law, Keith Kirkland.

Jo Ann is survived by 12 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

Throughout her life Jo Ann was married to former husbands, Frank Gunn and Kenneth Barnes.

Jo Ann was a long-term employee at Winter's National/Bank One.

During Jo Ann's later- years she rescued and repurposed unique finds. She had a love for making and sending special created treasures and cards to those whom she cherished.
