Jesse Ryan Furman, 50, passed away on September 29, 2026, in Dayton, Ohio, surrounded by his loved ones.
Born December 22, 1975, in Xenia, Ohio, Jesse lived with a spirit as memorable as it was generous. He graduated from Springfield South in 1994 and also attended Xenia High School, carrying forward the roots of the communities that shaped him. Jesse was known for having a big personality to match his height, and those who knew him will remember a man who was funny, caring, giving, and loving.
Throughout his life, Jesse worked hard and gave of himself in meaningful ways. He worked as a truck driver and also worked at Max and Erma’s. Beyond his work, he had a deep passion for helping others and spent time working with at-risk youth, reflecting the compassion and heart that were so central to who he was.
Jesse found joy in simple pleasures and in the people around him. He enjoyed basketball, fishing, and watching sports, and he was a proud Saints fan. He also enjoyed documentaries. Above all, he loved his family and friends, and that love was felt in the way he lived, laughed, and showed up for others.
He is survived by his father, George Furman Sr.; his children, Austin Webster, Jaelyn Furman, and Jesse Furman II; his brothers George (Karie) Furman II, John (Lori) Epps, Ray (Selma) Carter; his sisters Crystal Walters and Ashley Furman; and his dear friend Rachel Roe. He also leaves behind the extended bonds of family that meant so much to him, and the many people whose lives were brightened by his humor, his kindness, and his unmistakable presence.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Barbara Jane Furman, and by his brothers-in-law, Mykol Walters and Kyle Randall.
Visitation will be held on Monday, October 5, 2026, from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, North Dayton, 4104 Needmore Rd, Dayton, Ohio 45424, with the funeral service beginning there at 1:30 p.m. Burial will take place at Dayton Memorial Park, 8135 N Dixie Dr, Dayton, Ohio 45414 following the service.
Jesse Ryan Furman will be remembered for his warmth, his laughter, his devotion to those he loved, and the generous heart he carried through life. His memory will remain a lasting gift to his family, his friends, and all who had the privilege to know him.
