Jerry D. Hutchins

Jerry D. Hutchins, a man remembered for his dedication, warmth, and zest for life, passed away peacefully on June 6, 2026. Born on July 11, 1953, in Elkin, North Carolina, Jerry's journey was marked by a deep commitment to both his work and those he cared about.

Jerry proudly served his country as a Sergeant and dispatcher in the United States Air Force, a role in which he demonstrated discipline, responsibility, and unwavering service. Following his military career, he devoted many years to his position as an expediter at ChangeUp, known formerly as Design Forum. His colleagues and friends remember him as a hard worker who approached every challenge with dedication and persistence.

Beyond his professional life, Jerry was known for his fun-loving spirit and loyalty to his friends. He cherished time spent with companions and maintained long-standing friendships that enriched his life immeasurably. Among those close to him were Becky Dunbar, his companion, as well as lifelong friends Jeri, Terry, Jackson, and Serena Stanard, and Phyllis Reeder, a friend of many years.

Jerry's interests reflected a man who appreciated both excitement and tranquility. He loved visiting casinos and studying horse races with enthusiasm and keen interest. The beach was a favorite retreat where he found peace and joy. Additionally, Jerry had a keen eye for treasures at estate sales and enjoyed selling finds at antique markets, activities that showcased his appreciation for history and community.

His personality shone through in his interactions; he was as hardworking as he was warm-hearted, and his loyalty left a lasting impression on all who knew him. Jerry’s legacy is the embodiment of a life lived with purpose, laughter, and steadfast devotion to those around him.
