In Loving Memory of Jermaine Eugene Anderson Jr.

Jermaine Eugene Anderson Jr., 32, of Dayton, Ohio, passed away on October 1, 2026.

Jermaine will be remembered for his contagious laugh, bright smile, and the joy he brought to everyone around him. He was a loving husband, devoted father, caring brother, loyal friend, and someone who truly enjoyed making memories with the people he loved.

Jermaine had an energy that was impossible to ignore and a contagious smile that could light up a room. His presence brought a special kind of joy to the people around him, and his laughter was something you couldn’t help but join in on. He had a way of making moments memorable simply by being himself. His smile, his spirit, and the energy he carried with him will forever be a part of the memories cherished by everyone who knew and loved him.

Jermaine had a passion for fitness, basketball, hiking, running, waterfalls, and spending time outdoors. He especially enjoyed playing basketball with his team, whose jerseys carried the name “OMA”—a name that will mean something special to those who know. He loved staying active and making memories along the way. He also loved music, particularly the artist J. Cole and his songs “Man Up Above,” “39 Intro,” and “4 Your Eyez Only.” He enjoyed watching Dragon Ball Z with his children. Jermaine was playfully known as a chocolate chip cookie connoisseur, a title he proudly embraced.

Above all, Jermaine cherished his role as a husband and father. His family was at the center of his world, and he treasured the time they spent together, the laughter they shared, and the memories they created. His love for his family and friends was evident in the moments they shared, and those memories will forever hold a special place in their hearts.

Jermaine leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife, Melanie Anderson; his children, Isaiah and Isabella Anderson; his siblings, Andre Powe and Vanessa Anderson; his sisters-in-law, Aishah Coleman, Stacey Hinkston, Patrice Longmire, and Julian Corcoran; his brothers-in-law, William Longmire and Patrick Longmire; his nieces and nephews, Jae Henderson, Nyiah Henderson, Antonio Dubose, Diamond Compton, Devan Compton, Asa Hampton, and Harmony; his mother, Roberta Bryant; his mother-in-law, Patricia Corcoran; his father-in-law, James Corcoran Jr.; his grandmother, Ethelene Bryant Caldwell; his aunt, Rachel Bryant; his uncles, Jimmy Bryant and Ray Lindsey (Sarah); his aunt, Marraysha Lindsey (Chevone); his great-aunt, Sandy (Charles) Alexander; his uncle, Mike Anderson (Cynthia); and a host of extended family members and dear friends who loved him dearly.

Jermaine also had so many people in his life whom he called family, and not all of them were connected by blood. He believed that family went beyond genetics, and his heart had room for so many people. To everyone he welcomed into his life and called family, please know that he loved you all. You were a part of his life, his memories, and his story, and the bond you shared with him will always matter. You may not share the same last name or bloodline, but you shared a connection that meant something to him, and that love will never be forgotten.

Jermaine was preceded in death by his father, Jermaine Anderson Sr.; his sister, Alyssa Hines; his brother, Jamar Anderson; his grandfather, Michael Caldwell Sr.; his great-grandmother, Velma (Alger Anderson) Anderson; and his grandmother, Marsha Lindsey.

Though Jermaine’s life was far too short, the light he brought into this world will never fade. His contagious smile, unforgettable energy, and the love he gave so freely will live on through the people whose lives he touched. His legacy will live on most deeply through his wife and children, who will forever carry his love, laughter, and spirit in their hearts. Though his time here was shorter than it should have been, the impact he made and the memories he left behind will last a lifetime.

Forever loved. Forever remembered. Never forgotten.

“Life is beautiful, it truly is.” — JJ
