Jennifer Ray

Jennifer Nicole Ray, born September 23, 1979, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, May 9th. She was the beloved daughter of Janis Ray and Douglas Holland.

Jennifer lived her life with a bright spirit that was impossible to ignore. She never knew a stranger and had a special gift for making others feel welcomed, valued, and loved. Jennifer brought light into the lives of those around her.

Above all else, Jennifer was a loving mother to her three sons, Gage, Isaac, and James, who were the center of her world. She loved them fiercely and unconditionally and found her greatest joy in being their mother. She also leaves behind Delaney Short, whom she loved as a daughter and held close to her heart.

Jennifer also shared a relationship with her significant other, Bill Doran, whose love and support meant so much to her.

Jennifer had a remarkable ability to make children feel safe, encouraged, and loved. She achieved a Master’s degree in education and dedicated her career to early childhood education. The children and families she worked with will forever remember the joy and care she brought into their lives.

Jennifer was preceded in death by her grandparents, Gene and Margie Mangan, Mike and Janet Holland, cousins, Rachel Van Winkle and Michael Mangan.

She leaves behind her beloved sons, Gage, Isaac, and James; Delaney Short; significant other Bill Doran; mother Janis Ray, father Douglas Holland, adoptive father James Ray; siblings Larry (Mandy) Holland, Jimmy (Holly) Ray, and Jessica (Zach) Manson; many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews; and countless cherished friends, coworkers, former students, and loved ones whose lives were forever touched by her kindness and joyful spirit.

Jennifer will be deeply missed and forever remembered for the love, laughter, and light she brought into this world.
