Jennifer Louise Cowburn, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully in Dayton, Ohio on July 20, 2026, at the age of 53. Born on January 19, 1973, in Dayton, Jennifer’s life was beautifully woven into the fabric of her community, and she touched the lives of all who knew her with warmth, dedication, and love.

Jennifer dedicated herself to the care of others, both through her personal and professional pursuits. She earned a degree in criminal justice, embodying a commitment to fairness and compassion, and volunteered with the victims witness division, standing alongside those in need of support during difficult times. Her kindness reached far beyond her professional life, shining most brightly in the company of her family and friends.

Jennifer’s greatest joy was in spending time with her family. She was a devoted wife to her husband, Edward Cowburn, with whom she built a home filled with love, laughter, and lasting memories. She was a proud and loving mother to her sons, Aaron Cooper, Nicholas Cooper, and Mathew Cooper, and was delighted to welcome her soon to be daughter-in-law, Desiree, into the family. Her adoration for her grandchildren—Ellie, Madilynn, Nathan, Zaylend, and Malia—was boundless. Jennifer cherished every moment spent with them, and she was known for "spoiling" them with affection and delighting in their achievements and joys.

Jennifer’s love for her extended family was unwavering. She is survived by her mother, Patricia (Jim Haddix) Henson; sisters Johnda (Junior) Blankenship, Laura (Ray) Henson, Cynthia (Jim) Haines, Tonya Cooper, and Shauna Branham; and her brother, Dan (Lynne) Henson. She was preceded in death by her father, Johnny Cooper, and her sister, Becky Bowen. The bonds she fostered with her siblings and mother remained close, and gatherings with family were moments she treasured deeply.

A woman of many interests, Jennifer’s home was a place of warmth and welcome. She found happiness in simple pleasures—puzzles and games that brought laughter to the room, the beauty of flowers, peaceful hours spent fishing, and the melodies of music that filled her days. She found joy in playing bingo and indulging in scratch-off tickets, always bringing good cheer and a sense of playfulness wherever she went.

Jennifer’s Christian faith was an integral part of her life and was a source of strength, hope, and love. Her compassion, generosity, and steadfast spirit were reflections of her deeply held values. She was known for making others feel valued and for offering unwavering support to those around her.

Friends and family are invited to honor Jennifer’s memory and celebrate her life on Friday, July 31, 2026. Visitation will be held from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, North Dayton, located at 4104 Needmore Rd, Dayton, OH 45424. A funeral service will follow at 10:30 a.m. at the same location. Jennifer will be laid to rest at Dayton Memorial Park, 8135 N Dixie Dr, Dayton, OH 45414.
