Jeffrey D. Wachter, of Dayton, Ohio, passed away on September 11, 2026, at the age of 65. He was born on March 14, 1961, in Port Washington, Wisconsin.
Jeffrey will be remembered as a Firefighter/Paramedic for the City of Dayton, a role that reflected his commitment to serving others with courage and compassion. He was also an avid outdoorsman, finding joy in the natural world and the simple pleasures it offered. Above all, he was a loving and devoted husband, and that devotion remained at the center of his life.
He is survived by his wife, Tamara (Atwood) Wachter, with whom he shared 36 years of marriage. He is also lovingly remembered by his mother, Sarah (Armstrong) Wachter; siblings, Teresa (David) Roderick, Greg Wachter, Ginger (Jim) Lynaugh, Cynthia Anderson, Michael (Cyndi) Wachter, and Tony Wachter; and numerous extended family members and friends. The love of his family surrounded him throughout his life, and his memory will continue to live on in those who knew him best.
Jeffrey was preceded in death by his father, Donald Wachter.
Those who loved Jeffrey will remember a man of service, devotion, and steady presence. His life touched his family, his community, and all who had the privilege of knowing him, and he will be deeply missed.
