Jeffery C. Cofield, a beloved son, brother, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away on December 17, 2025, in his hometown of Dayton, Ohio. Born on March 3, 1962, to James and Mabel Cofield, Jeffery carried with him the laughter and warmth of his family's love throughout his life, and his journey was marked by a spirit of kindness, humor, and athleticism.

Graduating from Patterson Co-op High School, Jeffery set forth into the world with a determined attitude, always believing in the values of hard work and integrity. He dedicated many years of his life to Koehlke Components, a commitment that displayed not only his professionalism but also his desire to provide for those he loved. His willingness to go above and beyond for his family was a testimony to the unwavering love he held in his heart.

A veteran of the U.S. Army, Jeffery served his country with honor, and his military experience shaped much of his character. His personality was a radiant blend of comedic charm and genuine sincerity, making him the jokester amongst friends and family. People were drawn to his infectious laugh, and in social gatherings, you could often find him making jokes that bridged generations, reminding all that laughter truly is a gift worth cherishing.

A man of simple pleasures, Jeffery found joy in the small things—whether it was meticulously keeping his car clean or ensuring his grass was cut neatly. He took pride in always looking sharp, with his hair waves styled just right. He had a passion for sports and was an avid fan of the Cincinnati Bengals and The Ohio State Buckeyes. His wealth of knowledge about various sports was impressive, leading him to win nearly every sporting pool he entered, much to the admiration of his friends and family.

Jeffery's zest for life extended to bowling, a sport he loved dearly and participated in on a league level, where he created lasting memories with fellow enthusiasts. His legacy will be felt not just in the victories he celebrated, but in the countless lives he touched with his generosity and infectious spirit.

He leaves behind his cherished children, Avanna Owens and Dominique Cofield, who will forever carry his love and teachings in their hearts. As a devoted grandfather to Navon McCorkle and Tavon Walker, he found immeasurable joy in their smiles and laughter, creating a bond that will transcend time. He is also survived by his brother, Isaac Glenn Cofield, and a network of loving relatives that includes nephews Antwan Jones and Marquis Cofield, and niece Afton McClain. Jeffery's best friend, Darryl Montgomery, stood by him through thick and thin, sharing moments that will forever remain etched in their hearts.

He was preceded in death by his dear parents, James and Mabel Cofield, his sister Debra Moore, his brother Garland Sims, and his steadfast caretaker, Cynthia Johnson. Each of these individuals played a role in shaping the remarkable man he became, and their memories will continue to inspire all who knew him.
