Jeannie Day

Jeannie Day, age 82, of Kettering, Ohio, passed away on April 4, 2024. She was born on June 3, 1941 in New Orleans, Louisiana, to the late Arthur Mason DuPre' II and Margaret DuPre'. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother Arthur Mason DuPre' III.

Jeannie is survived by her children Gary (Susan) Day, Lovelyn (Benjamin) DeMers, Karyn Jordan, and Paul (Kellie) Day, and her son by choice Ozeas (Kathy) DaSilva; grandchildren Kayla Day, Emily Day, Abigail Day, Hannah Day, Rachel Day, Sarah Day, Alyssa (Jarred) Shaw, Ashton Folck, Laken Folck, Raina Folck, Weston Folck, Meghann (Austin) Hall, Aidan-Olivia Jordan, Noah Jordan, Jonah Jordan, Maddie (Markus) Day, Landen Day, and Delaney Day; great grandchildren Finley Hall and Mikah Traylor; half brother Bryant DuPre'; half sister Georgia DuPre' Chadwick.

Jeannie worked as a therapist for elderly patients with dementia. She also retired from Dayton Public Schools, where she taught classes from elementary to high school throughout her career. She also taught Sunday school at Risen Christ Lutheran Church for many years. Jeannie valued serving others and always helped the less fortunate. She helped raise four of her grandchildren and devoted many hours to help them with their schooling. Jeannie had a love for animals, and they were always instinctively drawn to her gentle spirit.

Visitation will be held on Friday, April 12, 2024, from 5 to 7 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3940 Kettering Blvd., Kettering, Ohio 45439.
