Jean Vivian Vorhees, age 87, of Beavercreek, passed away peacefully on May 28, 2018. Jean was born in Dayton to the late Bert and Pauline Emrick. Jean married the love of her life, Donald Vorhees in 1951. She was a caring and compassionate woman. She took great pride in her family and loved to spend time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Jean shared her love for others by working as a caregiver and teacher in childcare. In her free time, Jean enjoyed playing bingo. She was a loving, kind, and generous mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
In addition to her parents, Jean was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Vorhees, Sr.; daughter, Melody Sue Vorhees; twin brother, Jack Emrick; sister, Phyllis Rinehart; and brothers, Bert "Butch" Emrick and Richard Emrick.
Jean leaves to cherish her memory, children, Donald (Diana) Vorhees, Jr. and Vicki Vacchiano; grandchildren, Andrew (Jennifer) Vorhees, Elisha (Neil) Millar, Dominique (John David) Lemacks, and Jordan Vacchiano; great-grandchildren, Henry, Charlie, Penn, Maxwell, and Maren; and many other loving relatives and friends.
Jean will be interred at Dayton National Cemetery. Private family services to be held.
