Janice L. McCutcheon-Uhrig

Janice L. McCutcheon-Uhrig, born on July 23, 1952, in Meadville, Pennsylvania, passed away on May 16, 2026, in Dayton, Ohio. She was a woman whose life was deeply rooted in love and dedication to her family, especially her cherished grandson.

Janice found joy and fulfillment in a variety of pursuits throughout her lifetime. She was an avid reader as she delighted in the quiet pleasures of books as well as sewing and needlework. Among her favorite pastimes was spending time at the family’s home in Florida, a place where she could embrace relaxation and the beauty of nature. Gardening was another significant joy for Janice, particularly tending to flowers, which complemented her love for cooking—she found great satisfaction in preparing meals for those she held dear.

She is survived by her devoted daughter, Nikki (Scott) Fox; her beloved grandson, Talon Fox; and her significant other, Steve Lykins. Janice also leaves behind her brother, Jim McCutcheon, and sister, Carol Burton, along with numerous extended family members and friends who will remember her fondly.

Janice was preceded in death by her parents, James Guy and Ann (Livingston) McCutcheon.

A visitation to honor Janice’s memory will be held on Saturday, June 6, 2026, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home in Kettering, Ohio, located at 3940 Kettering Blvd, with a memorial service to follow at 2:00 PM.  

Janice L. McCutcheon-Uhrig will be remembered as a devoted mom and Mimi and a woman whose passions enriched her life and the lives of those around her. Her legacy of love, care, and warmth continues through the family she treasured most.
