Janice Marie Bassett

Janice Marie Bassett, age 74, of Riverside, passed away August 20, 2026. She was born August 31, 1951 in Dayton to the late Robert and Martha Riesinger. In addition to her parents, Janice was preceded in death by her daughter, Angela M. Kirkendall; husband, Robert E. Bassett; grandson, Samuel Swank; and great-granddaughter, Saylor Grace Dismukes.

Janice is survived by her daughters: Tonya Taylor and Shannon Cornett (Mark); grandchildren: Sonia, Robert, Shelley, Lyric and Dustin; great-grandchildren: Cannon, Chandler and Lawson; sisters: Frances Hicks (Bill) and Barbara Fritts; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She is also survived by her beloved dog, Kookie.

A private graveside service will be held for family and friends at Dayton Memorial Park Cemetery.
