Janice "Jan" R. Mills

Janice "Jan" Ruth Mills (Weaver) passed away peacefully on July 23, 2026. She was born on September 2, 1940 in Jackson, Kentucky. The daughter of the late Edward and Bertha (Bailey) Weaver.

Jan was a kind and loving person who cared deeply for her family. She was adventurous and was able to travel the world with her loving husband Jim. She had a love of animals and a “green thumb” when it came to her rose bushes. Jan had a strong faith and was very active in her church. She attended the First Baptist of Northridge Dayton, Ohio for many years and then the First Light Church in Vandalia, Ohio.

In addition to her parents, Jan was preceded in death by her loving husband, Jim Mills; son, Bryan Milby; and four of her siblings, Rita Mae Morris, George Weaver, Bonnie Madewell, and Jimmy Weaver.

She is survived by her son, Brett (Ellen) Milby; five stepchildren, Tom Mills, Greg Mills, Justin Mills, Jimmy Mills, and Barb Hobbs; sister, Dana Thompson; as well as numerous loving nieces, nephews, cousins, grand nieces, grand nephews, and friends.

A visitation will be held on Monday, July 27, 2026 from 5:00pm to 7:00pm at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4104 Needmore Road, Dayton, Ohio 45424.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, July 28, 2026 at 10:30am at the Newcomer Funeral Home, 4104 Needmore Road, Dayton, Ohio, 45424. Burial service will follow at Dayton Memorial Park Cemetery, 8135 North Dixie Drive, Dayton, Ohio, 45414.
