Janet L. (Clay) Stephens 78 of Miamisburg, Ohio passed November 4, 2025
Janet was born September 7, 1947 in David, Kentucky to Roxie and Harry Clay. She graduated from Prestonsburg High School in 1965. She attended Carousel Beauty College where she met her best friend Deborah Kenyon “DJ” and graduated in 1982. After graduating beauty college, Janet worked at JCPenney's for several years as a hairdresser.
In life she enjoyed camping and fishing with her finance, Gary. She loved playing Bingo, especially with her daughter, Michelle. Her life wish was to move back to Florida where she loved the beach and ocean. The most important thing to her was spending time with her daughters, grandkids, great-grandkids, fiancé, and her beloved dog, Ezme.
Janet was preceded in death by her parents, Roxie and Harry Clay; sister, Brenda Music; brother, Carl Clay; and grandson, Kyle Masters.
She is survived by her three daughters, Brenda (Carrie) Stephens, Glenda (Darrell) Newingham, and Michelle (Dave) Webb; fiancé, Gary Shepherd and their dog Ezme; Her daughters’ father, James (Linda) Stephens; grandchildren, Kamden (Hunter) Masters, Carrie (Tim) Webb, Kody (Taylor) Masters, Brandi (Brian) Sizemore, Jalie (Austin) Newingham, Clay (Alison) Newingham, and Jackson Bach; great-grandchildren, Eisley Masters, Tobias Phipps, Waylon and Colleen Masters; as well as numerous other family and friends.
A Visitation will be Wednesday, November 12, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home - Kettering Chapel (3940 Kettering Blvd., Kettering, Ohio 45439). Funeral Service will be held Thursday, November 13, 2025 at 12:00 pm with visitation prior from 11:00AM until the time of the service at Newcomer Funeral Home - Kettering Chapel.
