Today and forevermore, we remember, celebrate, and honor the extraordinary life and enduring legacy of Janei Monique Cooper. A woman whose vibrant spirit presence touched the lives of all who knew her. A woman of extraordinary charisma and boundless adventure, Janei was a natural born leader who approached life with unwavering determination and grace.
Born on August 18, 1988, to Michelle Cooper in Dayton, Ohio, Janei possessed an innate ability to connect with others and was beloved by all who crossed her path. Her magnetic personality and genuine warmth made forming friendships effortless, no matter where life took her. An exceptional student who consistently earned honor roll recognition, Janei graduated with distinction from Meadowdale High School, where her academic excellence earned her a full scholarship to Wright State University.
Faith served as the cornerstone of Janei’s life. She embraced Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior on May 4, 1997, at Mount Moriah Missionary Baptist Church at the tender age of eight. Throughout her formative years, she demonstrated her devotion through active participation in the youth choir and praise dance ministries, maintaining faithful attendance at weekly services. Drawing profound inspiration from her grandparents, who were instrumental in nurturing the early foundations of her spiritual walk, Janei remained steadfast in her faith journey. Her unwavering devotion and authentic witness served as a beacon of encouragement, inspiring others to deepen their own relationships with Christ.
Family was at the very heart of Janei’s existence, representing her deepest source of joy and purpose. In 2021, her world was forever transformed with the arrival of her precious daughter, Ja’Riyah Lynn. Janei devoted herself completely to motherhood, nurturing Ja’Riyah with boundless love, thoughtful guidance, and the spirit of adventure that defined her own character. Her daughter became the center of her universe, and Janei embraced every sacrifice with grace, ensuring that Ja’Riyah received the finest care and opportunities that her devoted mother could provide.
Creativity flowed through Janei’s very essence, manifesting most beautifully in her passionate love for culinary arts. Cooking was both a natural gift and a cherished form of artistic expression for Janei. She drew inspiration from the Food Network and delighted in experimenting with an array of exotic oils, aromatic herbs, and distinctive spices. Her culinary creations brought her immense joy, and she generously shared these masterpieces with family and friends, never hesitating to craft something extraordinary for holidays, gatherings, and special celebrations. Her artistic talents extended far beyond the kitchen, encompassing an elegant eye for interior decorating, an impeccable sense of fashion, and various forms of creative expression. Whether choreographing spirited TikTok videos with her family or channeling her entrepreneurial vision into plans for her future candle and wax business, Janei embraced every opportunity to let her creativity flourish.
On June 6, 2025, the Lord called Janei home to eternal rest. Janei was preceded in death by her beloved grandparents, McDouglas and Louise Cooper. Those left to honor and preserve her memory include her beloved daughter, Ja’Riyah Lynn; her devoted mother, Michelle Cooper; her loving brothers, Devon (Julie) Garrett and Tylan (Britney) Pitts; along with a multitude of cousins, nieces, nephews, other cherished relatives and dear friends whose lives she touched.
Janei was a radiant light capable of illuminating any space she entered, and her luminous spirit shall never be diminished. Her brilliance will continue to shine through the magnificent legacy of love and adventure she leaves behind, radiating through all those who were blessed to experience her remarkable presence firsthand, and through those who will forever cherish her precious memories.
